Originally created by William Gentry for Kindergarten classes that he instructed in Taiwan, Kindie Kung Fu is a paperback, an ebook and a multimedia project which includes a video and an Indiegogo crowd funding campaign for bringing books and instruction to underprivileged schools and programs for disenfranchised children. The course curriculum was designed using simple techniques from a variety of martial arts over a period of five years.
The book provides a safe and inexpensive means of developing excellent attributes in young children especially. Kindie Kung Fu is the perfect way to introduce children to martial arts, yoga and aerobics, and to teach them a little bit about solving problems without resorting to violence. It can be implemented in a classroom setting or at home.
Flexibility, coordination, cardiovascular, muscular and general health are some of the benefits that can be associated with the practice of martial arts, and even though the class was originally created for children ages 5 to 8, it can be utilized by anyone in a short twenty five minute period.
Kindie Kung Fu was created to be easy enough for young students. It took five years of development to see what worked best for students at ages sometimes as young as 3 or 4 years old. Mr. Gentry used his more than twenty years of experience in martial arts and more than ten years of experience as a teacher to formulate an exceptional program for young learners.
Kindie Kung Fu is available for purchase through online retailers which include iTunes, Amazon, Kobo, Smashwords, Flipkart, Oyster, Scribd, Createspace and several online libraries among others. Refer to Books for more information and links.
